Huskies Finish 15th At Wildcat Invitational

TUCSON, ARIZ. - Washington women's golf completed the final round of action at the Wildcat Invitational Tuesday, finishing the two-day tournament in 15th place. The Huskies finished the tournament shooting 85-over 937 after carding a 33-over 317 in today's final round.

Three of Washington's top four finishers were freshmen, led by true frosh Christina Yoon. Yoon finished the tournament tied for 41st, shooting 18-over 231. After carding back-to-back rounds of 5-over 76 on Monday, Yoon ended up shooting 8-over 79 over the final 18 holes.

Senior Amber Prange, who tied for 45th overall, shot the Huskies' low score of the final round at 7-over 78, one stroke more than her back-to-back rounds of 6-over 77 on Monday. Prange ended the tournament at 19-over 232.

True freshman Molly Aronsson (t-51st) and redshirt-freshman Molly Boyle (61st) shot 22-over 235 and 26-over 239, respectively. Junior Kim Shin ended the tournament at 43-over 256 and in 76th place.

Arizona State won the team title, finishing the tournament at 16-over 868, followed by Duke (24-over 876) and USC (29-over 881). Washington was playing amongst a tough field, with 12 of the 15 teams ranked in the latest Golfweek Top-25.

The Sun Devils had three of the top six finishers, but it was Duke's Amanda Blumenherst who claimed medalist honors as the only player to finish the tournament under-par. Blumenherst ended the three rounds at 3-under 210 (70-69-71).

Washington will continue its spring season traveling to Northern California next week to compete in the Spartan Invitational, Monday, March 5, through Tuesday, March 6, in San Jose, Calif.
