SAN JOSE, Calif. (Feb. 27, 2007) - The State Farm Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament will bring more than nine college basketball games to town when it opens a four-day run Friday at HP Pavilion at San Jose.
Packed in with some of the top women's college basketball in the nation are a girls' basketball clinic, an educational and networking event for college students interested in sports careers, a special opportunity for fathers and daughters to meet sports celebrities and attend games together, and a women's leadership night before Monday's championship game.
Here's the full schedule of activities surrounding the tournament, which is in its fifth year in San Jose.
Thursday, March 1
Pac-10 Banquet (not open to public)
US Bank Pac-10 Girls' Clinic for 400 elementary school students (sold out)
BAWSI College Sports 101 Night. Sandy Barbour and Lisa Love, athletic directors at Cal and Arizona State, respectively, will speak to college students about careers in sports.Tickets - $25 (includes appetizers, drinks, game admission)
Game 1 - #7 UCLA vs. #10 Washington State
Game 2 - #8 Oregon State vs. #9 Arizona
Saturday, March 3
Game 3 - #3 Cal vs. #6 Oregon
Game 4 - Game 1 winner vs. #2 Arizona State
Game 5 - #1 Stanford vs. Game 2 winner
Game 6 - #4 Washington vs. #5 USC
BAWSI Dads & Daughters Day. Soccer star Brandi Chastain, the LPGA's Juli Inkster and former 49ers Ronnie Lott and Brent Jones host a party for dads and daughters.Tickets - $25 per person (includes appetizers, drinks, game admission)
Game 7 - Semifinal between Game 3 and Game 4 winners
Game 8 - Semifinal between Game 5 and Game 6 winners
BAWSI Women's Leadership Night. Former California State Sen. Jackie Speier will speak to women about her political experiences and her upcoming book.Tickets - $25 per person (includes appetizers, drinks, game admission)
