Men's Golf To Host Washington National Winter Championships

SEATTLE -- The Husky men's golf team, ranked 32nd in the latest Golfweek Collegiate Rankings, will return to action hosting the Washington National Winter Championships in Auburn, Wash., March 5-6. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,304 yard Washington National Golf Course.
The third annual event is a B-team competition for the Huskies. Also competing in the tournament will be 'JV' teams from Oregon and Oregon State, as well as Concordia University, the University of British Columbia and St. Martin's. Individuals from the University of Idaho will complete the field.
Monday's play will include 36 holes of competition with a single-round slated for Tuesday. Tee times are set each day for 9 a.m. PT, with shotgun starts from both the first and 10th tees.
Last season, the Washington 'JV' team finished fourth, led by top finisher Kellen Eakin who tied for fourth. Oregon JV won the 2006 Washington National Winter Championships team title, while St. Martin's Shane Prante took home medalist honors.
