Stanford Diver Dwight Dumais Qualifies For NCAA Championships

Stanford men's diving completed their final day of the NCAA Zone E Regional on Saturday, March 3 at the Oklahoma City Community College Pool. After the meet, Dwight Dumais was selected to compete in the NCAA Championships beginning on March 15.
The divers began with the platform prelims, where Arizona State's Michele Benedetti grabbed an early lead with a score of 362.10. Dumais finished the prelims in a solid fifth place, earning 294.30 points. Kevin McLean followed right behind in sixth place with 291.30 points, while Nathan Kim held onto 11 with a score of 248.85.
The men then moved to the finals, where it was Benedetti from ASU holding onto the top spot to earn the victory with a final score of 738.75. McLean jumped to fifth place as he posted a 582.40, while Dumais (544.70) fell to eighth and Kim (519.20) dropped to 12.
Dumais will compete in the NCAA Championships Thursday-Saturday, March 15-17 in Minneapolis, Minn.
