Women's Golf Ranked First in the Nation

Tempe, Ariz. - According to the new Golfweek.com rankings, the Arizona State women's golf team is ranked number one in the nation. ASU earned their position as the number one golf team in the country after finishing in first place at the 2007 Wildcat Invitational. The Sun Devils shot a 16-over 868, including a second round score of 277.

In addition to the number-one ranking, three Sun Devils are ranked in the top-10 individually. Freshman Anna Nordqvist is ranked fourth, sophomore All-American Jennifer Osborn is ranked sixth and sophomore All-American Azahara Munoz is ranked 10th in the nation.

In the 1990s, Arizona State won six national championships under then head coach Linda Vollstedt.

The Sun Devils will return to play at the 'Mo'morial Invitational in College Station, Texas, March 9-11.
