Cardinal Hosts Florida State Tonight at 5:00 pm at Taube Tennis Center

March 7, 2007

Stanford closes out the winter quarter tonight with a rare evening match against Florida State beginning at 5:00 pm at the Taube Tennis Center. The Cardinal, 3-6 overall and ranked No. 36, will take a 19-day break following tonight's match against the Seminoles, who are 8-4 and ranked No. 31.

Stanford is currently riding a three-match winning streak, having beaten Miami, Arizona State and Arizona in its last three outings. The Seminoles have lost their last two matches and four of their last five after beginning the season 6-0. Three of Florida State's losses have come to nationally-ranked teams Ohio State (ranked No. 2), Notre Dame (No. 7) and Clemson (No. 20).

The Cardinal has not played a dual match since beating Arizona on Feb. 24. Last week, Stanford sent four doubles teams to compete in the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship in La Jolla.

Following tonight's match, Stanford will not play again until March 26 when they play a doubleheader against BYU (11:00 am) and Santa Clara (5:00 pm) at the Taube Tennis Center.
