Junior Paola Moreno carded a 2-over 74 to lead the No. 6 USC women's golf team to a tie for fourth on the first day of the 14th Annual Texas A&M 'Mo'Morial Invitational on Friday (March 9) at the Traditions G.C. in Bryan, Texas.

Troy finished with a combined 307 (+19), tying with Oklahoma State. Arizona State led the field at 303 and was followed by UCLA (304), host Texas A&M (306) and the Trojans and the Cowboys.

Moreno, USC's highest ranked golfer, was 1-over on each half of the course to lead the team. She is four shots off the individual lead (Hannah Jun, UCLA). Freshman Belen Mozo was 1-over for most of the afternoon, though bogeys on the final three holes dropped her into a tie for ninth with a 76 (+4).

Senior Catalina Marin fought through a rough stretch on the front 9 to go 1-under on the back nine and finish with a 77 (+5), tied for 17th. Senior Veronica Felibert finished with an 80 (+8), tied for 34th, while junior Dewi Claire Schreefel had an 82 (+10), tied for 48th in the 84-woman field.

Play begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday and at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday (CST).
