TEMPE, Ariz.-- The 10th-ranked University of Washington softball team (18-4) defeated Missouri 6-4 Sunday morning to round out the Pac-10/Big XII Face-Off with a 3-2 record. Sophomore Caitlin Noble (7-2) earned the victory while sophomore Marnie Koziol went 2-for-3 from the plate.

Washington evened the score in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI-double by senior Dena Tyson. The hit scored Koziol who had reached base on a single to extend her hit streak to 15 games.

The Huskies broke the game wide open in the second inning, posting five runs on four hits and an error. Sophomore Dani Stuart sparked the inning with a solo home run over the left field wall. Ashley Charters walked to load the bases and Koziol singled up the middle to score pinch runner Jacki Hansen. Dominique Lastrapes then belted a double to left field to bring in two more runs and put Washington on top 6-1.

Missouri continued to battle, using a solo home run by Andee Allen in the third inning and a two-run home run by Renth in the fifth to cut Washington's lead to 6-4 but Noble held the Tigers to just one hit over the next two innings to seal the Husky victory.

Noble earned the win as she allowed four runs on six hits and struck out four. Alana Jacobson took the loss as she gave up six runs on five hits in 1.1 innings.
