PAC-10 GYMNAST OF THE WEEK
ARIZONA freshman Brittney Morgan has been named Pacific-10 Conference Gymnast of the Week for March 6 - 12 , Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Morgan, hailing from Charlottesville, Va., led the Wildcats to three victories this past week, recording her first career all-around title with a career-high 39.350. This all-around score is a season-high for a Wildcat gymnast, which contributed greatly to Arizona's best road score of the season, topping the 196.100 mark in a road meet for the second straight week. Morgan's nearly perfect vault score (9.975) marked the Wildcats' comeback in the final rotation against No. 24 N.C. State and gave her the third vault title this season. This score ranks fifth all-time individually on vault at Arizona, and helped the Wildcats to a 49.450 in the event, the fifth highest team score on vault in Arizona history. Morgan tied for second on beam with a 9.825, notching the second-highest score of her career on this event. Adding to her career night, Morgan finished fifth on bars with a 9.775 and 10th placed on floor. Her efforts helped Arizona improve to 9-2 on the season, the best start for an Arizona squad since the 1997 season.
