DiCesare Brothers in 6th and 10th-Place After Day One of Northridge Spring Break Decathlon

Twin brothers Casey and Scott DiCesare stand in sixth and 10th-place after day one of the Northridge Spring Break Decathlon. Casey has a five event total of 3,269 points, while Scott has a total of 3,132 points.
Casey opened the day with a season-best 100m run of 11.67 (717 points), and then ran 52.14 in the 400m for 719 points. In the high jump, he cleared 6-1.25 (679 points). He posted a mark of 20-1.50 in the long jump (615 points), and ended the day in the shot put with a toss of 35-8.50 (539 points).
Scott equaled his season-best in the 100m with a time of 11.47 (759 points). He then ran 52.74 in the 400m (693 points). In the field events, Scott cleared 5-7.25 in the high jump (552 points), got a mark of 20-0.50 in the long jump (610 points) and threw the shot put 34-7 for 518 points.
Competition continues on Friday with the final five events of the decathlon - the 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500m. The Northridge Invitational also begins on Friday and runs through Saturday. Many Bruin track and field athletes will join the DiCesare brothers at Northridge.
