PEBBLE BEACH - The California men's tennis team won its second match in the second annual USF Pebble Beach Collegiate Classic, with a 5-2 victory over USF, Sunday afternoon in Pebble Beach, Calif. The Golden Bears (9-4) increased their winning streak to six.
Cal got the day started off well with three doubles victories to take the opening point. The duo of seniors Tyler Browne and John Pettit got back on track, after a tough loss yesterday, with an 8-5 win over Matt Berry and Asaf Cohen. On the No. 3 court, sophomores Eoin Heavey and Geoff Chizever notched their second doubles win of the weekend, beating Einar Hart and Mitch Del Rosario, 8-5.
In singles action, the Bears took four of the six matches. On the No. 1 court, junior Pierre Mouillon dropped the first set to Berry, 6-1, but rebounded to take the second, 6-3. In a close third set, it was Mouillon who won the set, 7-6, to take the match.
