FOUR TEAMS SENT TO NCAAs
For the third straight season, at least four Pac-10 teams were sent 'dancing,' as announced by the NCAA on ESPN's selection show ... STANFORD (29-5) earned the league's automatic berth with its win in the 2007 State Farm Pac-10 Tournament Mon., Mar. 5 ... ARIZONA STATE (30-4) earned a No. 3 seed, its highest in program history ... Two Pac-10 teams played in the Dallas portion of the bracket, No. 8 CALIFORNIA (23-9) and No. 11 WASHINGTON (18-13) ... The Pac-10 has sent at least four teams to the NCAA Tournament for three consecutive seasons, including last year's history-making six-team tournament and 2005's five-team tournament.

No. 3 ARIZONA STATE (30-4)
NCAA: vs. No. 7 Bowling Green; Greensboro, N.C.
Despite an off-shooting night, No. 3 Arizona State advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second time in three years with a come-from-behind 67-58 win over No. 6 Louisville in the NCAA second round on Mon., March 19 ... The Sun Devils also picked up a 57-50 defeat of No. 14 UC Riverside on Sat., March 17 in the opening round of play ... Placed in the Greensboro portion of the bracket, ASU heads to North Carolina to face No. 7 Bowling Green on Sat., March 24 at 12 noon ET ... Bowling Green upset No. 2 Vanderbilt in the second round on Tues., March 20, 59-56 ... This will be the first meeting ever between the two schools ... No. 1 Duke and No. 4 Rutgers will square off in the other regional semifinal ... The winners will meet Mon., March 26 at 7 or 9 p.m. ET ... All games will be televised on ESPN and ESPN HD ... With the nine-point win on Monday night, Arizona State becomes just the second school in Pac-10 history to eclipse the 30-win plateau ... Stanford has accomplished the feat six times, and most recently in 2004-05 (32) ... The Sun Devils have never posted more than 25 wins in a season ... ASU has been led in both postseason games by SO G Briann January who scored 15 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field against UC Riverside, only to come back and tie her career-high of 22 points against Louisville ... Arizona State started the game against Louisville ice cold, missing its first 15 shots, but kept it close with a 28-23 score at the half ... The team rallied to outscore the Cardinals 31-8 down the stretch, rallying from a 14-point deficit in the final 11 minutes ... January went a perfect 4-for-4 from long range, while picking up four steals and dishing out four assists in 33 minutes ... SR F Emily Westerberg was the only other player in double digits as she recorded 12 points on just 3-of-10 shooting ... For the game, ASU shot just over 36 percent from the field, but forced the Cardinals into 19 turnovers, 13 in the second half ... Against UC Riverside, SR F Aubree Johnson recorded her third double-double of the season, dropping 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds ... The Sun Devils were out-rebounded (35-31) and shot just under 35 percent for the game, but managed to pull out the seven-point win ... Arizona State earned a No. 3 seed for the first time in school history, the highest it has even been seeded in the Tournament ... The Sun Devils have been as high as a No. 4 seed three times, including last season in the Albuquerque regional ... The team is led by a trio of players who have each played in three NCAA postseasons, including Westerberg, Johnson and JR G Reagan Pariseau ... Westerberg is a solid shooter, ranking atop the Conference in free throw percentage at a .867 clip (124-of-143), good enough to place her at No. 19 in the country ... She also ranks ninth in the Pac-10 in field goal percentage at .502 (144-of-287) ... Named to the Pac-10 All-Tournament team, Westerberg is a three-time All-Pac-10 selection, guiding Arizona State to a 30-4 overall record, while setting a school record for Pac-10 wins in a season (16) ... ASU has just four defeats on the season, three of which came to Pac-10 regular season and Tournament champion, Stanford ... With a 60-53 win over California in the 2007 State Farm Pac-10 Tournament semifinals, head coach Charli Turner Thorne earned career win No. 200, bolstering her career winning percentage to .603 (202-133) ... Turner Thorne, the winningest coach in ASU history, ranks fifth in the Pac-10 in career wins ... Arizona State plays to its strengths: a deep bench, a physical defense and a shared attitude ... The Devils have ranked atop the league in assists all season, currently sitting at No. 1 with an 18.24 assists per game average.
WNIT THIRD ROUND NOTES (3/21)
WNIT: vs. Wyoming; Laramie, Wyo.
Oregon advanced to the third round of the WNIT with its 70-54 win over UC Santa Barbara in the second round on Sat., March 17 ... The Ducks will meet up with Wyoming on Thurs., March 22 at 6 p.m. PT on the Cowgirls' home court ... UO leads the all-time series with Wyoming, 1-0, having claimed a 63-33 victory on Nov. 28, 1998 in Eugene ... The winner of this game will face the winner of the Indiana-South Dakota State matchup in the Elite Eight ... The Ducks have been impressive in WNIT play throughout the years, having claimed the 1989 and 2002 championships ... Oregon, with its fourth overall appearance in the postseason tournament, is 11-1 all-time in WNIT competition ... Head coach Bev Smith earned her 100th career victory with the defeat of UCSB on Saturday ... She is now 100-82 (.549) in her sixth season at the helm of the Duck program ... Just three victories shy of the 20-win plateau, UO has bettered its record of a year ago (14-15) by three games ... The game with the Gauchos featured five Duck players in double figures, including SR F/C Carolyn Ganes who scored 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while grabbing seven rebounds in 21 minutes played ... Ganes was joined by SO G Tamika Nurse (11 points, four assists), SR F Eleanor Haring (10 points, 14 minutes), FR G Taylor Lilley (10 points, three assists) and SR G Jamie Hawkins (10 points, seven rebounds) in double-digit scoring ... In her past two games, Ganes is averaging 16 points and has a strong chance of breaking the 1,000 point barrier, needing just 48 more points to break the century mark (952) ... Oregon held UCSB to just 30 percent from the floor (19-of-64), including a 6-for-32 (18.8 percent) mark in the first half ... The Ducks also out-rebounded the Gauchos 45-35, setting a season-high for rebounds ... The Pac-10 is no stranger to playing at Wyoming in the WNIT, as Oregon State had its season ended at the hands of the Cowgirls in 2006, 67-49 ... The Ducks will look to avenge that loss and continue on in postseason play.
