UCLA REACHES FINAL FOUR AGAIN
Pac-10's 33rd Final Four Appearance

UCLA returns to the Final Four giving the Pac-10 back-to-back appearances for the first time since 1997 (Arizona) and 1998 (Stanford). It marks the 33rd Final Four appearance by a Pac-10 team ... The six Pac-10 teams selected for 2006-07 NCAA Tournament equals a league record established with the 2001-02 Tournament ... The UCLA Bruins successfully defended their Pac-10 regular season title and are the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. It's the 29th league title all-time for the Bruins, and their ninth Pac-10 title since the league expanded to 10 teams in 1979 ... OREGON, which won its second Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament championship, was a No. 3 seed and advanced to the Midwest Regional final before falling to Florida, the No. 1 seed and defending champion ... Eight of the 10 Pac-10 institutions have appeared in the NCAA Tournament over the last two years .... UCLA's Arron Afflalo picks up AP All-America honors with a first team selection, Oregon's Aaron Brooks earns third team AP All-America.

• PAC-10 AND THE NCAA TOURNAMENT... The Pac-10 has posted a record of 10-5 (.667) in NCAA Tournament action ... UCLA successfully returns to the Final Four, its 17th Final Four appearance, and the Pac-10's 33rd Final Four appearance ... Three Pac-10 teams advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2002 ... With six teams selected for the NCAA Tournament, the Pac-10 has sent four or more teams into the Tournament for the 13th time in 14 years ... The six teams tie a Pac-10 record set in 2002 ... Eight of the 10 Pac-10 institutions have appeared in the NCAA Tournament over the previous two years ... Over the last seven NCAA Tournaments, the Pac-10 has posted a 52-32 (.619) record and has had 15 teams reach the Sweet Sixteen ... With 15 national titles, the Pac-10 owns more NCAA basketball titles than any other conference. Five different Pac-10 schools have captured the national title.

• UCLA is making its 41st NCAA Tournament appearance, and its 17th appearance in the Final Four ... UCLA has earned the No. 2 seed for the second straight NCAA Tournament ... After defeating Weber State and Indiana, UCLA advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the second consecutive year where it knocked off Pittsburgh and No. 1 seed Kansas ... In four Tournament games, the Bruins defense has stymied the opposition into shooting 73-of-201 (.363) from the field ... The Bruins have posted an all-time NCAA Tournament record of 94-33 (.740) with a record 11 national titles. The most recent coming during the 1994-95 season ... Coach Ben Howland is 13-5 (.722) all-time in the Tournament, having guided three different schools (UCLA, Pittsburgh and Northern Arizona) into the bracket ... UCLA is 0-1 all-time vs. Florida, having lost to the Gators in last year's NCAA semifinals. UCLA is 2-0 vs. Georgetown, and 6-3 vs. Ohio State.

PAC-10 NOTES

• Pac-10 freshmen made quite an impact this season. Four freshmen are among the league's top 11 scorers - California's Ryan Anderson (16.3 ppg/5th), Arizona's Chase Budinger (15.6 ppg/7th), Washington's Spencer Hawes (14.9 ppg/10th) and Oregon's Tajuan Porter (14.6 ppg/11th). Six freshmen are among the top 17 in rebounding - USC's Taj Gibson (8.7 rpg/3rd), Anderson (8.2 rpg/5th), Hawes (6.4 rpg/9th), Stanford's Brook Lopez (6.0 rpg/12th), Budinger (5.8 rpg/14th), Stanford's Robin Lopez (5.5 rpg/17th). Porter leads the league in free throw percentage (.909) and three-point field goals (110). Gibson leads the league in field goal percentage (.558). Robin Lopez leads the Pac-10 in blocked shots (73/2.35 bpg), followed in order by Gibson (1.86 bpg), Hawes (1.74 bpg),and brother Brook (1.73 bpg)... Four freshmen earned Pac-10 Player of the Week honors during the year (Budinger - Nov. 20, Hawes - Dec. 26, B. Lopez - Jan. 29, Porter - Feb. 26).

• ARIZONA posted a winning record in Pac-10 play for the 23rd consecutive season... Arizona has posted 20 or more wins in each of the last 20 seasons... Freshman F Chase Budinger is the fifth Wildcat to be named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. (Sean Elliott - 1986, Mike Bibby - 1997, Michael Wright - 1999, Salim Stoudamire - 2002)... With 670 career assists, senior G Mustafa Shakur finished his career sixth on the Pac-10's all-time list, and second on the UA career list... Shakur (1,318 points) and senior F Ivan Radenovic (1,300 points) finish 22nd and 23rd on UA's career list.

• ARIZONA STATE played 14 games decided by five points or less on the year, including eight in Pac-10 play... Christian Polk hit 64 three-pointers on the year, just two shy of freshmen record set by Ron Riley in 1992-93 (66)... Has held Arizona (61), Oregon (55) and California (41) to season lows in points. Only once during the last 16 games of the season did an opponent score more than 67 points on the Sun Devils... ASU was third in the league in scoring defense, allowing just 61.8 points per game - fourth best in school history.

• CALIFORNIA posted a school record 249 three-point baskets. The previous best was 198 three-pointers during the 2002-03 season. Six different players have collected at least 25 treys this season - Ayinde Ubaka (59), Ryan Anderson (58), Omar Wilkes (37), Jerome Randle (26), Theo Robertson (26), and Eric Vierneisel (26)... At 16.3 points per game, freshman F Ryan Anderson is the third freshman to lead Cal in scoring since 1996 (Leon Powe 15.1 ppg in 2004, Shareef Abdur-Rahim 21.1 ppg in 1996). Anderson's 269 rebounds are the most ever by a Cal freshman... The Bears set a school record from the free throw line (76.9 percent).

• OREGON freshman G Tajuan Porter has set Oregon's single-season record, and Pac-10 freshman record, with 110 three-pointers... As a team, Oregon has established a Pac-10 record with 350 three-pointers... The Ducks were 16-2 at home this season, equalling the school's single-season home win total of 16 (achieved in 1937-38 and 2001-02)... Oregon is the only school in the country to have defeated three different top 10 teams this season - No. 1 UCLA, No. 10 Arizona and No. 9 Washington State... Oregon is 13-5 in games decided by eight points or less (9-4 in Pac-10 games). It was 2-14 in such contests last season... Senior G Aaron Brook leads the Pac-10 in scoring at 17.7 ppg. Oregon hasn't had a Pac-10 scoring leader since Terrell Brandon in 1991 (26.6 ppg).

• OREGON STATE Guard Josh Tarver led all Pac-10 freshmen in assists, averaging 3.84 per game (123 assists)... Senior C Kyle Jeffers posted 97 blocked shots during his career, finishing fourth on OSU's career list... Junior F Marcel Jones posted 49 steals on the season. It's the most thefts in a season by a Beaver since Deaundra Tanner had 50 swipes during the 1997-98 season. Jones ranks fourth in the Pac-10 with 1.53 steals per game. Jones had a steal in 29 of 32 games this season, including a streak of 20 consecutive games.

• STANFORD posted a school single-season record with 184 blocked shots (5.94 bpg) this year. The previous season-best of 167 rejections was established by the 1999-2000 squad. Robin (73 blocks) and Brook Lopez (45 blocks) have accounted for 118 blocks - that's more than seven other Pac-10 teams have accumulated for the season... Sophomore F Lawrence Hill had the biggest jump among Pac-10 players in scoring average from last season. As a freshman, he averaged 4.7 points per game. His scoring output increased to 15.7 ppg this season - an increase of 11.0 points per game. Sophomore G Anthony Goods bumped his from 2.7 ppg to 12.8 ppg (+10.1 ppg).

• UCLA has a 20-game winning streak at Pauley Pavilion, including the last 14 Pac-10 games... The Bruins finished the 2007 home slate undefeated (16-0) for the first time since 1995 (15-0). The last time UCLA finished the home portion of its schedule with a 16-0 record was during the 1975 season... Junior G Arron Afflalo is the fifth Bruin to earn Pac-10 Player of the Year honors (Marques Johnson - 1977, David Greenwood - 1978 and 1979, Kenny Fields - 1983, Ed O'Bannon - 1995)... Sophomore G Darren Collison leads the Pac-10 in steals (78, 2.29 spg). His 78 thefts rank second on the school's single-season list and are the most by a Bruin since Cameron Dollar swiped 82 during the 1997 season... UCLA has posted 25 or more wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1978 (25-3) and 1979 (25-5).

• USC established a school record with 25 victories this season... Senior G Lodrick Stewart has set a USC career record with 232 career three-pointers. Stewart passed former Trojan Brandon Granville who collected 218 treys from 1999-2002... Three Trojans have surpassed 1,000 career points - junior F Nick Young (1,486 points), Stewart (1,466 points), and junior G Gabe Pruitt (1,102)... Freshman C Taj Gibson set a USC freshman record with 321 rebounds - the fifth best single-season rebound total in school history... Gibson's Pac-10 leading 55.8 percent field goal shooting is the seventh best percentage in USC history... The Trojans have posted their 16th 20-win season.

• WASHINGTON sophomore F Jon Brockman led the Pac-10 in double-doubles (15) and rebounding (9.6 rpg)... Sophomore G Justin Dentmon became the ninth player in school history with two 100-assist seasons... Junior G Ryan Appleby became the only Husky ever to produce two 70 three-point field goal seasons. His two-year total of 154 three-pointers ranks second on the school's all-time list behind Deon Luton (212, 1997-2000)... The Huskies swept USC and UCLA at home for the third consecutive season... Washington was 17-2 at home this season, and have posted a 60-7 (.896) over the last four seasons in Bank of America Arena.

• WASHINGTON STATE tied a school record with 26 victories this season. It's the most wins in a season since posting 26 victories in 1940-41... It's the 16th 20-win season in school history... The Cougars second-place finish matched their best finish in the Pac-10 in school history (1982-83)... Junior G Kyle Weaver became the first player in Pac-10 history to record the combination of 300 points, 125 assists, 125 rebounds, 50 steals and 35 blocked shots in a season... Washington State drew 104,525 fans this season. Second best attendance total in Friel Court history. The Cougars drew 110,206 fans during the 1980 season.
