EUGENE, Ore. -- Washington men's golfer Alex Prugh claimed a share of medalist honors at the Oregon Duck Invitational, carding a final round score of 2-under 70, Tuesday, to finish the tournament at 2-under 214. In the team race, the Huskies finished in a tie for sixth place with UCLA at 23-over 887.

Prugh, who took home his first career individual title, ended in a three-way tie atop the leaderboard with UCLA's Kevin Chappell and USC's Jamie Lovemark. The Husky senior carded scores of 4-under 68 and 4-over 76 in the first two rounds, Monday. It marks the third-straight year that a Washington golfer has claimed a share of medalist honors at the Oregon Duck Invitational as Joe Panzeri and James Lepp did so in 2006 and 2005, respectively.

The Huskies, who shot 8-over 296 in Tuesday's final round, ended up with two top-10 individual finishers. In addition to Prugh, sophomore Chris Killmer closed out the tournament shooting 1-under 71 and ended in a six-way tie for sixth place at 3-over 219. Killmer, a transfer from Cal State Bakersfield, notched the second Top-10 finish of his young Husky career.

USC won the team title by six strokes (4-over 868) and was followed by runner-up Oregon State (10-over 874). Arizona and the host Ducks tied for third at 11-over 875. The 12-team field included each Pac-10 team, as well as San Diego State and Pacific. Oregon will host the Pac-10 Championships, April 23-25, on the same course at the Eugene Country Club.

Washington's other competitors were freshman Nick Taylor (t-38th, 11-over 227), sophomore Kellen Eakin (t-49th, 14-over 230), senior Erik Olson (t-54th, 17-over 233) and sophomore John Wise (t-57th, 18-over 234).

Up next for the Huskies will be the Boilermaker Invitational hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind., April 7-8.
