No. 1 Stanford Routs No. 42 Arizona 7-0

STANFORD, Calif.- No. 1 Stanford won its 11th straight match on Friday afternoon, easily dispatching of No. 42 Arizona 7-0 at the Taube Tennis Center.

The Cardinal took an early 1-0 edge in doubles, thanks to victories at the Nos. 1 and 3 positions. At the No. 1 spot, Lindsay Burdette and Anne Yelsey defeated Kasia Jakowlew and Natalia Toporowska 8-4 to claim the doubles point.

Stanford improves to 14-1 overall and 2-0 in Pac-10 play while Arizona is now 8-9 and 2-1 in league action.

The Cardinal swept all six singles matches to secure the 7-0 shutout. Two days after being upset at UNLV, No. 11 Theresa Logar cruised past Arizona's Danielle Steiberg 6-0, 7-5 at No. 1 singles.

The remaining five singles contests resulted in straight set victories, punctuated by junior Celia Durkin's 6-1, 6-1 triumph at the No. 3 spot over Arizona's Natalia Toporowska.

Stanford closes out this weekend's homestand with No. 19 Arizona State tomorrow at noon.
