Cardinal Golf In Fifth At PING/ASU Invitational

Tempe, Ariz. - Cardinal Mari Chun shot a blistering six-under par 66 today to help the Stanford women's golf team move into fifth place overall with a two-day score of 589. Stanford has shot rounds of 298 and 291 over two days. Host Arizona State continues to lead the tournament at 11-under 565, followed by Vanderbilt (581), Texas A&M (583), UCLA (584) and Stanford (589).

Rounding out the top 10 are Oklahoma State (591), Pepperdine (591), Arizona (594), New Mexico (596) and USC (604).

Stanford's Mari Chun continues to lead the team with a seven-under par 137 (71-66) after lighting up the course today. Chun recorded six birdies on the afternoon. Senior Lauren Todd shot a two-under par 70 today to move into a tie for 12th overall with an even-par 144 (74-70). Teammate Catherina Wang is tied for 29th with a 149 (75-74) while Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana is tied for 80th (78-83--161). Rounding out the Cardinal competitors is Saana Rapakko who is tied for 82nd (81-81--162).

ASU's Jennifer Osborn leads the field with an eight-under par 136. Close on her heels are Chun and ASU's Anna Nordqvist - both at seven-under 137. Oklahoma State's Pernilla Lindberg is fourth with a 139. Three players are tied for fifth at 140.

The teams will play the final 18 holes at Karsten Golf Course tomorrow.
