Stanford Softball Falls 8-0 To Oregon

Eugene, Ore. - The Stanford softball team fell to Oregon 8-0 this afternoon at Howe Field in Eugene, Ore. The Cardinal drop to 25-7 on the year and 1-1 in league play while the Ducks improve to 36-3, 2-0 in the Pac-10.
Oregon scored five runs in the bottom of the second to take the early lead. They added one more in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
Becky McCullough (8-5) took the loss for Stanford, allowing eight runs (six earned) on 10 hits over 4.1 innings of work. Against the Cardinal, Rice pitched her eighth shutout of the year, allowing just four hits and walking one batter.
Oregon and Stanford will play a quick rematch on Sunday, with start time set for 1 p.m. at Howe Field.
