Moreno, Mozo Lead USC At Ping/ASU Invitational

Freshman Belen Mozo tied for 19 overall while junior Paola Moreno tied for 25th after firing a final-round team-best 70 to lead No. 7 USC during the third round of the 2007 Ping/ASU Invitational on Sunday (April 1) at the Karsten G.C. in Tempe, Ariz.
USC finished tied for ninth with a combined 895 (306-298-291, +31), 44 strokes back of winner and host Arizona State (851, -13). The Sun Devils were 22 shots ahead of the next closest school.
Mozo moved up one spot for the second straight day into a tie for 19th at 219 (+3) after her par 72. Moreno jumped from a tie for 42nd to a tie for 25th after her final-round, 2-under 70 left her at 222.
Senior Catalina Marin edged up to a tie for 33rd at 224 (+8) after her third round 73.
Senior Veronica Felibert finished her weekend with a 78 for a 232 (+16), 59th overall.
Freshman Caroline Kim turned in her best round of the tournament with a Sunday 76 to finish at 240 (+24), tied for 78th.
The team played without junior Dewi Claire Schreefel, who played as an amateur this week in the 2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship on the LPGA Tour at the Mission Hills C.C. in Rancho Mirage, Calif. She posted a 155 (79-76, +11) but didn't make the cut.
