Cougars Swept by Top Ranked Stanford, 7-0

Stanford, Calif. - The Washington State women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to top ranked host Stanford Friday afternoon at the Tennis Courts at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
The Cougars fell to 13-9 and 1-5 in the Pacific-10 Conference, while Stanford improved to 16-1 and 4-0 in Pac-10 play.
WSU got down early as Stanford's No. 3 doubles unit of Whitney Deason and Theresa Logar defeated Aleksandra Cekic and Aleksandra Stefanova, 8-1. Stanford clinched the doubles point in the top slot after Lindsay Burdette and Anne Yelsey, nationally-ranked 24th, downed Ekaterina Burduli and Marjolein van de Ven, 8-2.
Stanford kept their 13-winning streak alive after sweeping the Cougars in singles action. Lejia Hodzic posted a straight-set victory over Kara Konomos, making her dual match season debut, 6-3, 6-1. In the No. 2 slot, 21st ranked Yelsey defeated van de Ven, 6-3, 6-1. Budette, ranked 73rd, secured the Cardinal win the No. 5 position after defeating Stefanova, 7-6, 6-0.
Stanford would continue its winning ways in the remaining three slots.
The Cougars are back in action against the 5th ranked California Bears, Saturday April 6 at noon.
