Bryant Named Pac-10 Co-Field Athlete Of The Week

April 9, 2007

USC redshirt senior Noah Bryant was named Pac-10 Conference Field Co-Athlete of the Week today (April 9), after winning the Pepsi Team Invitational shot put competition on April 7.

Bryant's winning shot of 66-2 1/4 (20.17m) was nearly two meters farther than the second-place finisher, teammate William Denbo (60-3), and established a new outdoor PR, was the top outdoor NCAA mark this season and the second-farthest shot put in USC history.

Bryant moved from fourth place to second place on USC's all-time shot put list, passing Dallas Long (65-10 1/2) and Hank Kraychir (66-0 1/2), now only trailing Dong Lane's 66-11 1/4 school record set in 1972. Bryant had set his previous best of 65-8 1/4 on March 24.
