Glissmeyer Leads Troy At U.S. Collegiate Championships

Sophomore Tom Glissmeyer's 75 was No. 5 USC men's golf's top finisher as it opened play in an ultra-competitive U.S. Championship at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga., on Monday (April 9).
The Trojans, coming off their second team title of the season at the Oregon Duck Invitational two weeks ago, finished with a combined 304 (+16), 12 strokes behind co-host No. 15 George Tech and No. 10 Clemson (292).
Five of the top six ranked teams in the Golfword.com Top 25, seven of the top 10 and 13 of the top 25 are participating in the tournament.
Glissmeyer is tied for 28th with his 75 (+3), including a 1-over 37 on the back nine.
Senior Joshua Wooding and freshman Rory Hie are tied for 36th, each with a 76 (+4) while freshman Jamie Lovemark is tied for 45th after an opening round 77 (+5). Senior Jordan Nasser rounds out the contingent tied for 63rd after an 80 (+8).
Play continues Tuesday and Wednesday. Action begins at 9 a.m. (EDT). USC is scheduled to start near 11:30 a.m.
