Men's Tennis Registers Another Shutout

LOS ANGELES - Fresh off a pair of shutouts over the Arizona schools this past weekend, the 10th-ranked UCLA men's tennis team turned in another dominating performance on Tuesday, registering a 7-0 victory over San Diego State at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins, who have not surrendered more than a single point in their last nine matches, improve to 16-3 overall. The Aztecs fall to 15-7 overall.

UCLA swept play on all three doubles courts with the featured match of the day coming at the No. 1 position, where a pair of ranked teams did battle. The Bruin tandem of Philipp Gruendler and Benjamin Kohlloeffel, ranked No. 12 nationally, dispatched of 14th-ranked Markus Dickhardt/Christen Groh, 8-2.

The only other ranked meeting of the day came at the No. 1 singles spot, as Kohlloeffel, ranked fourth, downed the 30th-ranked Dickhardt, 6-4, 6-0. UCLA won the remaining five singles matches in straight sets, as no Bruin player dropped more than six games en route to victory.

UCLA heads to Northern California for its final road trip of the regular season this weekend, facing Stanford on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and Cal on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
