No. 18 Cal State Fullerton Beats USC, 7-1

FULLERTON, Calif. - Dustin Garneau and Josh Fellhauer had two hits and two RBI each Tuesday as the No. 18 Cal State Fullerton Titans defeated the USC Trojans, 7-1, in nonconference action at Goodwin Field. A season-high crowd of 3,310 witnessed the home Titans take a 6-0 lead after the fifth inning.
Garneau put the first runs on the board for Fullerton with a two-run single to score Matt Wallach and Nick Mahin. The Titans took a 4-0 lead in the third after Clark Hardman tripled and scored on a fielder's choice grounder by Fellhauer and an RBI double from designated hitter Khris Davis.
The Titans added two more runs in the sixth before the Trojans scored its lone run in the eighth on Lucas Duda's RBI groundout. Duda went 1-for-4 to extend his season-high hitting streak to nine games.
Freshman Michael Morrison (3-1) earned the win on the predetermined start, throwing three scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.
Tommy Milone (2-3) took the loss for the Trojans, allowing five runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings.
USC will host UCLA in a Pac-10 Conference series (April 13-15) at Dedeaux Field. The USC-UCLA series starts on Friday at 7 p.m. with a 1:30 p.m. start on Saturday and 1 p.m. game time for Sunday. Saturday's game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net.
