Box Score

TEMPE, Ariz. - Mike Leake was excellent for six innings and Ike Davis delivered a big blow at a key moment to lead the Sun Devils to an 8-3 win over Washington State at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark. The win puts ASU at 27-10 on the year, 8-2 in Pac-10 play.

Leake allowed only three hits and no runs over his six innings of work to up his record to 8-1.

Eric Sogard got the scoring for the Devils in the third, singling up the middle to score Tim Smith. A Petey Paramore sacrifice fly made it 2-0, then a Cougar error allowed another run to score to make it 3-0 after three.

Another Cougar error in the fourth allowed a run home to make it 4-0, and Arizona State eventually loaded the bases for Ike Davis. RB-Ike sent a shot off the left field wall, clearing the bases and giving the Sun Devils a 7-0 lead. Paramore would bring home Davis with a single to make it 8-0.

Washington State would score three runs off Jason Mitchell and Ted Aust over the final three innings, but they could not overcome the early 8-0 deficit.

Reigning Pac-10 Player of the Week Kiel Roling was 2-4, as was Brett Wallace. Eric Sogard was 2-3 with an RBI. Ike Davis knocked in three runs while Petey Paramore brought home two.
