UCLA To Compete In Evening Session At NCAA Championships

In a random draw conducted by the NCAA, the UCLA gymnastics team was selected to compete in the preliminary evening session of the NCAA Championships (hosted by Utah) on Thursday, Apr. 26 at 7:00 pm Mountain Time. The Bruins, winners of the Southeast Regional, will compete against host team and West Regional winner Utah, South Central Regional winner Stanford, Northeast Regional runner-up Michigan, North Central Regional runner-up Denver and Southeast Regional runner-up LSU.
Competing in the afternoon session at 1:00 pm MT are two-time defending champion and North Central Regional winner Georgia, undefeated and Northeast Regional winner Florida, Central Regional winner Alabama, West Regional runner-up Nebraska, Central Regional runner-up Oklahoma and South Central Regional runner-up Oregon State.
The top three finishers from each preliminary session will advance to the Super Six Team Finals on Friday, Apr. 27 at 7:00 pm MT.
The five-time NCAA champion Bruins will begin the preliminary meet on balance beam and will continue to a bye before floor, floor exercise, vault, another bye and then will end on uneven bars. Michigan begins on vault, Denver on a bye before bars, LSU on bars, Utah on a bye before floor and Stanford on floor.
Rotating with UCLA will be individual all-around qualifier Brittney Morgan from Arizona.
UCLA has now qualified for 23 NCAA Gymnastics Championships and will be looking to bring home the school's record 100th NCAA title.
