The women and men's track and field teams will travel down the 405 to La Jolla, CA this Friday and Saturday for the UC San Diego Triton Invitational. The meet will be the final tune-up competition before the annual crosstown rivalry match-up between UCLA and USC, hosted this year by the Trojans.

Women's Team
The No. 11/14 Bruins will travel a fairly large squad to La Jolla with all event groups represented. The women's competitors are highlighted by distance runners Allie Bohannon and Ashley Caldwell, Jolanda Diego in the short sprints, Nicole Leach in the short sprints (#4 400m runner in the country, Jacqueline Nguyen (#3 vaulter in the country), Megan Jamerson (#4 vaulter in the country) and Ingrid Kantola (#5 vaulter in the country) in the pole vault and Maris Wisdom in the short sprints.

Leach will make her 400m hurdles debut next against USC, while Rhonda Watkins will return to action also next week against the Trojans.

Men's Team
The men's team, ranked #19/#20 in this weeks' polls are also sending a fairly large team to the meet this weekend. UCSD is known for its big discus winds and the throwers will be looking to take advantage of that. Darius Savage and Greg Garza (#4 and #5 in the country), along with Jason Rider, John Caulfield and Nick Robinson have their eyes set on PR's this weekend.

All of the pole vaulters will be in action, highlighted by the No. 2 vaulter in the country, Mike Landers.

Brandon Johnson will make his long awaited debut in the 400m hurdles after over a year off from competing in the event due to injury. Last weekend, he ran a 46.6 split on the Bruins' 4x400m relay, and is ready for a test-run before the big dual meet on April 28.

David Klech will also be in action in either the 400m hurdles or 400m dash. Kevin Craddock, who has battled some small hamstring problems and some bouts of sickness this season, is entered in the meet, but his participation is up in the air and will most likely be a meet-day deicision. Several distance runners and sprinters will also be in action this weekend.
