UW Returns To Pac-10 Play Vs. USC

April 19, 2007

SEATTLE - The Washington baseball team returns to Pac-10 play this weekend after having played six straight non-conference games. This Friday through Sunday, USC (19-19, 2-7 Pac-10) travels to Seattle for a three-game series. The Trojans are coached by former Seattle Mariners catcher Chad Kreuter, in his first season in charge.

The Huskies (19-16, 5-4 Pac-10) will have sophomore RHP Jorden Merry on the mound as their starting pitcher for Friday's 6:30 p.m. game. He'll be opposed by USC freshman righthander Brad Boxberger.

On Saturday, for a 2:00 p.m. game, the Huskies will send sophomore LHP Nick Haughian to the hill to take on USC's Ryan Cook, a sophomore righty. On Sunday, a 1:00 p.m. game, the Husky starting pitcher is yet to be determined. The Trojans are slated to start sophomore southpaw Anthony Vazquez.

All three UW-USC games will air live on KKNW AM-1150 in the Seattle area. Fans can also catch that broadcast, along with live video, on the 'Dawg Channel' at gohuskies.com.
