Stanford Women's Golf Prepares For Pac-10 Championship

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford Prepares For Pac-10s: The 20th Pacific-10 Conference Women's Golf Championship begins Monday, April 23 and will run through Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the Broadmoor Golf Club, Seattle, Wash. The University of Washington will serve as the tournament host for the 54-hole Championship where teams from all 10 institutions will compete. Admission to the 2007 Pacific-10 Women's Golf Championship is free.

Rankings: As of April 15th, the Golfweek/Sagrain Index shows that five teams are ranked in the Top-15 ... Arizona State is ranked No. 1, followed by USC at No. 6, Stanford is ranked No. 8, UCLA at No. 11 and rounding out the Top-15 is Arizona at No. 15 ... As for the rest of the Conference, Washington State is No. 45, Oregon is No. 50, California is No. 55, followed by Oregon State at No. 59 and Washington at No. 60 ... Individually, ASU has two players in the Top-5 - No. 2 Anna Nordqvist and No. 5 Jennifer Osborn , with Azahara Munoz also coming in at No. 11 ... Additional Top-25 players include Arizona's Alison Walshe (No. 9), USC's Paola Moreno (No. 15), Stanford's Lauren Todd (No. 19) and UCLA's Tiffany Joh (No. 23) and Hannah Jun (No. 25).

Schedule: A practice round will take place on Sunday, April 22 before the tournament beings on Monday morning. Tee times on Monday and Tuesday begin at 9 a.m., while the final round on Wednesday will tee off at 8:30 a.m.

Team Pairings: The team pairings and order of play for the first round are as follows:

Group 1 (1st Tee - 9 a.m.):
Arizona, Washington State

Group 2 (1st Tee - 9:40 a.m.):
UCLA, Stanford

Group 3 (1st Tee - 10:20 a.m.):
Arizona State, USC

Group 4 (10th Tee - 9:24 a.m.):
Washington, Oregon State

Group 5 (10th Tee - 10:04 a.m.):
California, Oregon

Touranment Scoring: The four individuals from each team with the lowest scores for any 18-hole round constitute the scoring members of the team for that given round. The team championship will be awarded to the squad with the lowest total combined score for all rounds.

Tournament Results: At the conclusion of each round, results will posted on Washington's web site (, or on the Golfstat web site at and click on live scoring.

Last Year: UCLA captured its third consecutive Pac-10 title and placed 11th at the 2006 NCAA Championship. UCLA shot a 15-over (879) to win the Pac-10 Tournament by one stroke over Arizona State. Washington's Paige Mackenzie carded a 3-under 69 in the final round to claim the individual title.

Cardinal Notes: The Stanford Cardinal are currently ranked eighth nationally by GolfWeek ... The Cardinal have won two tournaments this year and finished in the Top-10 in all eight tournaments this season ... Stanford's team is led by Lauren Todd, who boasts a 73.2 stroke avgerage and Mari Chun's stroke average of 73.6 ranks second for the Cardinal ... Chun has won one individual tournament title this season and has six Top-25 finishes on the year ... Look for Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana to finish well as she has seven Top-25 finishes this season while Todd has six.
