Golfers Remain in Second Entering Final Round at Pac-10 Men's Championships

Fifth-ranked UCLA remained in second place after three rounds in the 48th Pac-10 Men's Golf Championship Tuesday, hosted by Oregon at the Eugene Country Club.

The Bruins remained at 12-under par after posting an even par score of 360 in the third round. Tenth-ranked USC was running away with the event, firing a 15-under par score of 345 for a 35-under total of 1,045. The Bruins' total was 1,068, 23 shots back. Arizona State was third at 1,076 (-4) after a six-under par score of 354. Second-ranked Stanford moved up to fourth place at 1,081 (+1), followed by Washington at 1,083 (+3) and Arizona at 1,092 (+12). Tied for seventh place were Cal and Washington State at 1,100 (+20), followed by Oregon State at 1,101 (+21) and Oregon at 1,102 (+22).

Individually for the Bruins, only junior Daniel Im posted a third round score under par. Im had five birdies for a flawless round of 67 (-5). Unfortunately, second round leader Jamie Lovemark of USC also posted a 67 and held a five-shot lead over Im heading into the final round. Lovemark stood at 14-under par 202 and Im was tied for second at nine-under 207 with ASU's Niklas Lemke.

Tied for seventh place was junior Kevin Chappell at 213 (-3) after posting a 73 (+1) in round three. Chappell was three-over par through 12 holes before an eagle at the par 5 13th brought him to one-over. He made five straight pars to close with a two-under 35 on the inward nine.

Sophomore Lucas Lee was 14th at 215 (-1). Lee birdied his last two holes for an inward 36 (-1) and an even par round of 72. Freshman Jason Kang posted a 73 (+1) and was tied for 15th at even par 216. Sophomore Erik Flores posted a 75 (+3) and was tied for 37th at 221 (+5). Junior Craig Leslie was tied for 46th at eight-over 224 after carding a 78.
