Husky Women Done at Pac-10 Tennis Championships

    Ojai, Calif. - The Washington women's tennis season came to an end on Friday as the Huskies were beat in doubles action at the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, Calif.

    The Husky duo of Joyce Ardies and Mathilde Cor were beat in the Pac-10 Championship bracket by Lindsay Burdette and Anne Yelsey of Stanford. The Cardinal pair is ranked No. 21 nationally and handed Ardies and Cor an 8-5 loss.

    In the Women's Invitational Doubles flight, the Husky duo of Melinda Wong and Tara Simpson lost a quarterfinals match to California's Daron Moore and Cristina Visico, 8-4. Wong and Simpson were the top seed in the invitational and had received a first-round bye.

    The other Husky team of Aleksandra Malovic and Allison Rainey lost 8-5 in the first round of the invitational to California's Bojana Bobusic and Claire Ilcinkas.

    With the field set to be announced for the NCAA Championships, the No. 65 ranked Huskies are most likely going to be left out of the tournament.
