Trisha Ford To Be Inducted into Saint Mary's Hall of Fame

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford assistant softball coach Trisha Ford is among six former athletes and coaches who will be inducted into the Saint Mary's College Hall of Fame on Sunday. The former Trisha Dean, class of 2000, was one of the best softball players ever to play at Saint Mary's, and is the only softball player in school history to have had her number (9) retired.

Ford still holds career records in batting average (.364), hits (230), RBI (118) and doubles (62) for the Gaels. In 1998 alone, Ford led the nation with 25 doubles and set a new school single season batting average record (.435). She is also in the top-10 of five career statistical categories and eight single season statistical categories. Ford began her coaching career at Saint Mary's, as well, and led the 2003 squad to its highest winning percentage in school history.

The 2007 Saint Mary's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Sunday, Apr. 29 at Saint Mary's beginning with an 11:00 a.m. Mass. The Banquet and Reception begin at noon in the Soda Center.
