USC Announces 2007 Schedule

LOS ANGELES -- The USC women's volleyball program has released its 2007 schedule with the Women of Troy opening the season with two tournaments at the Galen Center. The Trojan Invitational will take place August 24-25 with Loyola Marymount, St. John's and Michigan State while the USC Classic will be held August 30-September 1 with Cal State Northridge, Duke and Mercer on the bill.
A total of 13 opponents on USC's slate played in last year's NCAA Tournament.
Along with the always competitive Pac-10 Conference schedule, USC will host Pepperdine (Sept. 5) and UC Irvine (Oct. 2) in nonconference action with a road match on Sept. 7 at Utah and a tournament on the road in Columbus, Ohio, (Sept. 14-15) against host Ohio State and Purdue.
Key Pac-10 home matches will take place on Saturday (Oct. 27) against Stanford, Friday (Nov. 2) against UCLA and Friday (Nov. 16) against Washington.
This will be the first full season for the program at the Galen Center.
USC is primed for an NCAA Final Four run with a squad that comprises of five seniors, including All-America second team outside hitter Asia Kaczor, sophomore setter Taylor Carico (2006 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year) and an incoming freshman class that includes four Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 players, 6-3 middle blocker Zoe Garrett (Laguna Beach/Laguna Beach HS), 6-2 outside hitter Kimmee Roleder (Pasadena/Pasadena HS), 5-10 outside hitter/libero Geena Urango (Los Alamitos/Los Alamitos HS) and 6-4 middle blocker Lauren Williams (Houston, Texas/Stratford HS).
