Opata and Selaru Conclude WSU's Run at Pac-10 Championships

Ojai, Calif. - The Washington State tennis team's run at a Pacific-10 Championship ended Saturady afternoon after Bianca Selaru and Anastesia Opata fell in their semifinal match in Ojai, Calif.

Opata and Selaru lost to Claire Ilcinkas and Bojana Bobusic of California, 8-0, ending any chance for a WSU individual or doubles team to win a championship.

Opata and Selaru made an impressive run in the doubles invitational bracket after beating Becky Duesler and Sarah Yang of UCLA, 8-5, in the first round. The WSU duo would go on to upset USC's Sarah Fansler and Julie Smekodub, who received first round byes, 4-3 Ret in the round of 16. It was the first time the WSU tandem has partnered this season.

The Pac-10 Championships conclude, Sunday, April 29.
