Jackson To Throw Out First Pitch At Upcoming UW Softball, Mariner Games

SEATTLE -- Washington women's basketball head coach Tia Jackson will throw out the first pitch at some upcoming Husky softball and Seattle Mariner games in the next two weeks.

She will throw out the first pitch prior the Huskies' home softball game versus California on Saturday, May 5, at 2 p.m. Jackson will also do the honors prior to the Wednesday, May 16, Mariner's game versus the Los Angeles Angels at Safeco Field at 7 p.m.

Jackson, a former assistant coach at Duke, UCLA, Stanford and Virginia Commonwealth, was hired as the eighth head coach in the history of UW women's basketball on April 6. She inherits a Husky squad that compiled an overall record of 18-13 in 2006-07 and made its second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
