PULLMAN, Wash. - Tuesday night's baseball game between Washington State University and Lewis-Clark State College at Bailey-Brayton Field was canceled due to lightning. The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 15, at Bailey-Brayton with first pitch scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
At the time of the delay Lewis-Clark State held a 6-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, though the Cougars had runners at first and second with Cody Bartlett at the plate. The first sight of lightning occurred at 7:12 p.m. and the game was delayed at that point. The game was officially canceled at 8:41 p.m. as lightning continued in the Pullman area.
Statistics in the game will not count toward season totals and next Tuesday's game will begin in the top of the first inning.
The Cougars are next in action Friday when they begin a three-game Pacific-10 Conference series at defending national champion Oregon State. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
