No. 15 Men's Track and Field Off to Palo Alto for Pac-10 Championships

The No. 15-ranked men's track and field team will travel to Palo Alto this weekend to participate in the Pac-10 Championships. The two-day meet begins on Saturday with field events starting at 12:00 pm and running events at 2:00 pm. On Sunday, field events start at 10:00 am and running events commence at 12:00 pm.

The Bruins head to the meet with 17 athletes ranked in the top-8 in the conference and 18 ranked in the top-25 in the nation. Several Bruins are poised to win Pac-10 titles, including Mike Landers, Kevin Craddock, Brandon Johnson, Greg Garza and Michael Johnson. This will also be the final weekend in which athletes can pick up regional qualifying marks. So far, the Bruins have picked up 27 qualifying marks for the West Regionalmeet (which is held May 25-26 in Eugene, OR).

Teams are allowed only 28 athletes at the Pac-10 Championships,meaning several of UCLA's regional qualifiers will stay home and notcompete in Palo Alto including pole vaulters Dustin DeLeo and Zack Miller, and thrower Josh Rider.

Also staying home this weekend are David Klech and Dominique Easterling as both are rehabbing injuries.
