Oak Ridge, Tenn. - The No. 13-ranked UCLA varsity eight boat will conclude its season at the 2007 NCAA Women's Rowing Championships this weekend, May 25-27. The championships will be held at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, starting at 8 a.m (ET). UCLA will make its third consecutive appearance at the NCAA Rowing Championships.
As a result of their successful season, the Bruins earned one of four at-large bids for the 2007 NCAA Championships. Coming off of a fourth place finish at the Pac-10 Championships, the Bruins hope to make some waves in a deep pool of competitors that includes a total of five Pac-10 teams.
UCLA will race in the competitions' opening heat on Friday, May 25 at 8 a.m. (ET). The No.13-ranked Bruins are scheduled to race in lane 1, facing No.14 Central Florida, No. 3 Virginia, No. 4 Brown, and No.12 Harvard in lanes two through five, respectively. The Bruin varsity eight crew will be led by two-time all-conference sophomore Vanessa Teff. The race can be viewed on CSTV's Live Feed.
