Men's Track & Field NCAA Championships Accepted Entries Announced

The No. 7/8 men's track and field team will send eight individuals to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Sacramento next week as the accepted entries for Nationals were announced on Tuesday. The Bruins automatically qualified seven individuals to NCAA's last weekend at Regionals, while two received at-large bids.

Heading to Sacramento are - Austin Ramos (5000m), Darius Reed (110m Hurdles), Brandon Johnson (400m Hurdles), Mike Landers, (Pole Vault), John Caulfield (Shot Put/Discus), Greg Garza (Discus), Darius Savage (Discus) and Jason Rider (Discus).

Ramos ranks 13th heading into the meet in the 5000m with a best time of 13:51.73. Reed is 18th in the high hurdles (13.81) and Johnson is sixth in the intermediate hurdles (49.98).

Landers is tied for fifth in the vault with a mark of 17-9 and Caulfield ranks eighth in the shot put with a throw of 63-1.25.

In the discus, the Bruins will have four competitors with Garza leading the way as the top-ranked thrower with a mark of 208-11. Savage ranks seventh (200-5), Rider is 15th (191-1) and Caulfield is 18th with a mark of 189-9.
