NO. 3 STANFORD LIGHTWEIGHT CREW TRAVELS TO IRA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Cardinal Lightweight Crew heads to Camden, New Jersey this week to compete in the 2007 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Lightweight National Championship held on the Cooper River. The No. 3 Card are looking to improve on their top national finish of fifth place (2003, 2005) as they complete their sixth year as a Varsity program.
The 12 teams racing in the Lightweight Eight event are No. 1 Wisconsin, No. 2 Princeton, No. 3 Stanford, No. 4 Georgetown, No. 5 Radcliffe, No. 6 Central Florida, No. 7 Bucknell, No. 8 Ohio State, No. 9 Loyola Marymount, No. 10 UC-Long Beach, No. 11 Lehigh, and No. 12 MIT.
The Stanford Lightweight Eight is comprised of seniors stroke Meredith Coleman and Jennie Morawetz, juniors Kate Hayes and Olivia Prevost, sophomores Kathy Altman and coxswain Jessica Weigel, and freshmen Erin Conlon, Alex Liptsey-Rahe, and Anne Stake.
Racing begins Friday June 1 at 7:00 a.m.
