Prugh Named To PING All-Pacific Region Team

May 30, 2007

NORMAN, Okla. -- Washington senior golfer Alex Prugh was named to the 2007 PING All-Pacific Region team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced today.

Prugh, a native of Spokane, Wash., has earned All-Region honors all four years of his Husky career. He was also named an All-Pac-10 second-team selection earlier this season.

The PING All-Region teams consist of the top 15 individuals in their region. Additionally, any player ranked nationally in the top-75 according to Golfstat or the Sagarin rankings not included in their region's top-15 are added to the All-Region team. Members of the All-Region teams are automatically eligible for PING All-America honors, to be announced following the Division I NCAA Championships.

Prugh finished his Husky career when Washington's postseason run came to an end at the NCAA West Regional two weeks ago. In his final collegiate campaign, Prugh tallied a career-low 71.74 stroke average, while notching three Top-10 and eight Top-20 finishes. He was the Huskies' top finisher in all but two tournaments and claimed his first career medalist honors at the Oregon Duck Invitational (March 26-27). Prugh also led the team shooting 13 rounds under par and eight rounds in the 60's.
