Five Named To Pac-10 All-Academic Team

STANFORD, Calif.- Stanford women's tennis was well-represented with five selections on the 2007 Pac-10 All-Academic team, announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Juniors Whitney Deason (3.49 - Political Science) and Celia Durkin (3.44 - Humanities) were named to the Second Team while junior Lejla Hodzic (3.20 - Communications), sophomore Jessica Nguyen (3.38 - Undeclared) and senior Anne Yelsey (3.25 - Psychology) were recognized as Honorable Mention.
Deason finished the year 25-10 overall and 19-5 in dual matches while Durkin wrapped up her season at 30-13 overall and 15-6 in duals. Deason finished with a No. 99 national ranking while Durkin checked in at No. 14.
Hodzic finished 17-4 overall and 11-8 in duals, Nguyen closed out at 23-7 overall and 11-1 in duals and Yelsey finished 18-9 overall and 16-6 in duals. Nguyen finished with a national ranking of No. 20 and Yelsey came in at No. 24.
