Stanford Places 10 On 2007 Pac-10's All-Academic Teams

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Stanford has placed 10 members of its squad on the 2007 Women's Swimming and Diving Pac-10 All-Academic Teams released on Tuesday.

Andrea Axtell (3.99 GPA, Undeclared), Lauren Costella (3.68 GPA, Communications) and Cassidy Krug (3.69 GPA, English) were named First Team selections.

Morgan Hentzen (3.43 GPA, Technology & Society) and Laura Wadden (3.50 GPA, Undeclared) were chosen Second Team.

Elizabeth Durot, Katie Lampe, Fiona O'Donnell-McCarthy, Madeline Rovira and Desireé Stahley were selected honorable mention.

Krug is the only repeat First Team selection as she has now won the honor twice in her career, while also picking up one honorable mention choice. Costella had been previously been named Second Team once and honorable mention on another occasion in her career. Hentzen was a Second Team choice for the first time after having previously been selected honorable mention twice. Stahley was an honorable mention selection for the third time, while Durot and Lampe were both honorable mention selections on the second occasion. Axtell, Wadden, O'Donnell-McCarthy and Rovira were all honored academically by the conference for the first time.

To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter of significant contributor.
