European Vacation: More Shopping In Milan

June 5

Jessica Gysin

We started the day off with some food and a two hour bus ride from Venice to Verona. The bus took us through the gorgeous Italian countryside then dropped us off at the Arena in downtown Verona. The Arena is the 2nd biggest coliseum in Italy and hosts big concerts like Sting and The Eagles. It was so old and pretty and looked almost identical to the famous coliseum in Rome! There were even two guys dressed as gladiators standing out front so we took some funny pictures with them because they looked like Trojans! We spent about 3 hours in Verona, walking through the shops, taking pictures and of course eating the food and gelato. A lot of us shopped all day in Venice yesterday, so today we did more people watching. However, it was hard to sit down in some places without the street vendors putting fake Gucci belts and Prada purses in your bag hoping for you to buy them. A lot of us bought some cute stuff but others were waiting for the shopping in Milan, the fashion capitol of the world. We slept on the two-hour bus ride from Verona to Milan so when we got there we were ready to power shop! While the brand name stores, like Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Gucci are famous in Milan. The most popular attraction is the Church in Duomo Piazzala.

We had never seen anything like it! We took pictures out front then a few of the girls went inside to check it out. After a couple hours of sightseeing and shopping we hopped back on the bus and headed to the hotel for some food and sleep! We leave for Montreaux in the morning and we couldn't be more excited to see Switzerland...especially the Alps!

This will be the 8th and final country before we head back home to the states where reality awaits.
