Five Cardinal Golfers Tabbed All-Americans
June 6, 2007
Owings Mills, Md. - Five Stanford golfers earned All-America honors when the PING Division I All-America Teams were announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America today. Freshman Joseph Bramlett and junior Rob Grube were selected as Second Team All-Americans, while seniors Zack Miller and Matt Savage were Third Team honorees. Sophomore Daniel Lim was among the 29 Honorable Mention selections.
The five selections marked the first time in program history that all five team members earned All-America honors. Previously, the highest single-season selection total was three in 1973, 1974 and 1994. Stanford has not had multiple All-Americans since 1996, and now has 59 all-time honors. Grube earned his third-straight honor after receiving Honorable Mention the last two years, while Bramlett, Miller, Savage and Lim all earned the honor for the first time of their careers.
Stanford finished the 2007 season with seven team titles, and won its first national title since 1994 at the NCAA Championships in Williamsburg, Va. on Saturday.
