Larry And Bryant Place In Finals At USA Outdoor Track And Field Championships

USC's Lionel Larry placed third in the men's 400m race and Noah Bryant took fourth in the men's shot put competition today (June 23) at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held in Indianapolis, Ind.

Larry, who had a PR of 44.67 yesterday in qualifying for the finals, had a time of 44.80 to finish third today. Larry placed second at the2007 NCAA Track and Field Championships in the 400m race with a time of 44.68. He ranks third all-time on USC's 400m list.

Bryant placed fourth today in the men's shot put competition with a throw of 66-1 (20.14m). Bryant won both the 2007 NCAA indoor and outdoor shot put titles.

Candice Davis had a time of 13.30 in the women's 100m HH semi-finals and did not advance to the finals. Her former Trojan teammate Virginia Powell had the fastest semi-final time and then won the finals with a time of 12.63 to win the USA 100m HH title for the second consecutive year.

Hurdler Kai Kelley posted a time of 14.00 in the 110m HH preliminaries, but did not qualify for the finals. He placed fourth in his heat. Kelley placed seventh in the 110m HH at the 2007 NCAA Championships.

Bryshon Nellum, who will enter USC in the fall, won the junior men's 400m race with an impressive time of 45.38.

Duane Solomon will be competing in the men's 800m final tomorrow.
