Only Two Bruins Finish at U.S. Women's Open

Former Bruins Charlotte Mayorkas and Mo Martin finished their opening rounds prior to the suspension of play Thursday at the 62nd U.S. Women's Open in Southern Pines, NC.

Mayorkas, an LPGA rookie, was tied for fifth place after posting a 70 (-1) and Martin, a Duramed Futures Tour player, was tied for 122nd after carding a 77 (+6).

Former All-American Amie Cochran was tied for 12th place at even par after 10 holes.

Jane Park, the 2004 U.S. Women's Amateur champion, was tied for 25th place at one-over par through 16 holes.

Former letterwinner Guilia Sergas was tied for 109th place at five-over par through 13 holes.

UCLA sophomore Sydnee Michaels and incoming freshman Maria Jose Uribe were tied for 122nd place at six-over par. Michaels had played 10 holes and Uribe, who ranked 14th in driving distance Thursday at 268.5 yards, had played 17 holes.
