Dahmen Back In Lead Heading Into WSGA Men's Amateur Final Round

BREMERTON, Wash. - Washington men's golfer Joel Dahmen has reclaimed the lead at the 81st annual Washington State Men's Amateur Championship heading into Friday's final round at Gold Mountain Golf Club. Dahmen carded a third round score of 4-under 68, Thursday, after falling from atop the leaderboard following his second-round score of 1-under 71, Wednesday.

Dahmen (Clarkston, Wash.) is currently 7-under 209 and leads former Husky Derek Berg by two strokes. Dahmen will attempt to become the third straight Washington player to win the WSGA Men's Amateur after Zach Bixler won the title in 2006 and Alex Prugh did so in 2005.

UW senior-to-be Bixler (Richland, Wash.) sits in seventh place heading into Friday at 3-over 219. He shot a 1-over 73 on Thursday. John Wise (t-13th, 9-over 225) and assistant coach Jon Reehoorn (t-16th, 10-over 226) are the other current Huskies in the top-20.

Also still competing are Nick Taylor (14-over 230), head coach Matt Thurmond (14-over 230) and Darren Wallace (16-over 232).
