Incoming Frosh Richardson Wins PanAm Junior Triple Jump Title

Incoming frosh Ke'Nyia Richardson won the 2007 PanAm Junior triple jump title on Sunday in Sao Paolo, Brazil as she posted a mark of 44-5.50. Richardson, who is the high school record holder in that event, will join the Bruin track team in the fall as a freshman.
Last month, she won the USATF Junior National title in Indianapolis, IN to earn a spot on Team USA's roster for the PanAm Junior Games.
Also in Brazil, another incoming Bruin and high school record holder, Tori Anthony, was competiing. Anthony placed fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 13-1.50.
Two current and five former Bruins will compete at the PanAm Games in a few weeks, also in Brazil, highlighted by NCAA champions Nicole Leach (400mH) and Rhonda Watkins (LJ). Also competing are former Bruins Monique Henderson (400m), Chelsea Johnson (PV), Sheena Johnson (400mH), Suzy Powell (DT) and Ysanne Williams (800m).
