Women's Gymnastics Announces 2008 Schedule

TEMPE, Ariz. - Six home meets highlight the Arizona State University women's gymnastics team's 2008 schedule as announced by head coach John Spini.

The Sun Devils kick-off the 2008 season on the road at UCLA, the defending Pac-10 champions, on January 13. They then travel to the Bay Area to face another Pac-10 foe, the California Golden Bears on January 18.

The Sun Devils open their home slate against long-time rival Utah on Friday January 25th at 7:30 p.m. MT. They remain at home the following week, hosting Pac-10 opponent the Oregon State Beavers on Wednesday January 30th at 7:00 p.m. MT.

Hitting the road again, the Sun Devils travel to the Midwest where they face the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lincoln on February 10th.

The Sun Devils return home to host intrastate rival Arizona on Friday February 15th at 7:30 p.m. MT. They travel to the Pacific Northwest the following week to compete against Pac-10 foe Washington in Seattle.

The Sun Devils come back to Tempe to host three consecutive home meets starting off with the annual UNO's Classic. Pac-10 competitor Stanford, along with San Jose St. and UW Oshkosh are slated to compete in the Classic on Friday February 29th at 7:00 p.m. MT. The following week, the Sun Devils host a tri-meet with Penn St. and Boise St. coming in to make the line-up on March 7th at 7:00 p.m. MT. The final home meet for the Sun Devils is on March 14th at 7:30 p.m. MT against Ohio State.

ASU travels to Missouri to face the Mizzou Tigers on March 21st. They finish the 2008 regular season traveling back to Seattle for the Pac-10 Championships on Saturday March 29th.
