Cougars Announce Four TV Football Games; Game Time in Seattle

July 10, 2007

PULLMAN, Wash. - Three Washington State University football road games and one home contest have been selected for national and regional television by ABC and Fox Sports Network, WSU Director of Athletics Jim Sterk announced Tuesday.

In addition, the Cougars have set a 4 p.m. kickoff for the Cougar Gridiron Classic, their Sept. 8 nonconference game in Seattle against San Diego State. The game will be played at Qwest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks.

ABC will televise WSU's season-opening game at Wisconsin. The game will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. Pacific, 2:30 p.m. Central. The network will also televise the Cougar game at USC set for a 5 p.m. telecast, Sept. 22.

The preseason schedule also includes two games televised by FSN, the first being WSU's Oct. 27 game with UCLA. Kickoff will be 3:30 p.m. from Martin Stadium. Additionally, FSN will televise WSU's game at California, Nov. 3, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

'The early television selections by ABC and FSN indicate there remains a great deal of interest in Cougar football,' said Sterk. 'That can also be supported by our ticket sales, which have been strong for season tickets and the Cougar Gridiron Classic game, as both are on par or ahead of previous seasons.'

'I would also anticipate additional games being selected for television as the season progresses,' Sterk added.

Both ABC and FSN will select additional games during the course of the 2007 season, with selections made six or 12 days in advance of the games.

Season tickets along with tickets for the Sept. 8 game versus San Diego State at Qwest Field are currently on sale. Tickets are available online at, by phone at 1-800-GO-COUGS, or through all Ticketmaster outlets.
